Fixed price or surprise bill, how does Joylo actually charge?
The monthly plan price is fixed. The only variable is AI credits, the compute Joylo spends generating or changing code. Credits do not roll over, but if you run out mid month new builds pause and apps already deployed keep running. Human help is fixed price too. Expert Assist is $500 for 10 architect hours, an architect-led migration is $2,000 whatever it takes, and Production Support is a flat monthly fee. None of them is an hourly rate that grows on you.
What is the real difference between Co-Build and just buying Expert Assist?
Continuity. On self-serve you get a certified engineer each time, but not necessarily the same one, and they start by reading your project. On Co-Build you get a named architect who already knows your app, reviews what the AI builds, and carries context from month to month. The economics follow from that. Self-serve tops out at 20 architect hours a month. From the point you need more than that, Co-Build costs less than buying the hours and Production Support separately.
I am on Solo Builder. What am I actually paying $25 for?
The AI. Ten private apps, 100 credits a month, custom domains, always-on apps, and the AI Confidence Score auditing every build. Human help is separate on purpose. You are not paying every month for an engineer you might never use. When you want one, it is $500 and you press the button yourself.
What happens if a job needs more than 10 hours?
Your architect stops and asks. They write up what is left and what they think it takes, and nothing further happens until you say yes. No time is logged while they wait. That is why you never see an estimate up front. The ten hours is a ceiling, not a guess, and you can watch the hours logged against it as the work happens. Scoping conversations are never charged.
Can I bring an app I built on Lovable, Replit or Bolt?
Yes, and it costs nothing to find out. Point Joylo at your repo and we check it before anything runs. Most projects import automatically in minutes, on any plan including Free. If yours is a monorepo, a heavily customised backend or an unusual auth setup, we tell you up front rather than starting an import that will not finish. An architect then does the move by hand for a fixed $2,000, quoted before you commit. You are never charged for an attempt that did not work. On Co-Build, use your included hours instead.
Is somebody watching my app at 3am?
Something is, not somebody. Automated monitoring runs 24/7, checking uptime every minute along with database health, storage and error rates. Automatic restart and failover resolve most overnight incidents without anyone being involved. Our engineers work business hours. We could advertise a 24/7 on-call rota, but sustaining one properly takes five engineers and we would rather tell you the truth than staff a pager badly. Anything the automation cannot resolve is first in the queue when cover opens. If you need genuine round-the-clock human response, that is an Enterprise conversation.
You guarantee production readiness. Why would I pay for Production Support?
The production guarantee covers getting there, that your app launches working, secure and able to handle real users on day one. Production Support is about staying there, as traffic grows, dependencies change and new vulnerabilities appear. Anything that breaks because of code a Joylo Architect wrote is warranty. Free on every plan, no hours drawn, whether or not you have Production Support.
Who owns the code, and can I take it elsewhere?
You get the code in your own GitHub on every plan. Joylo generates a conventional stack, a React front end, a Node API and Postgres via Neon, with no proprietary client SDK. Moving the database is a standard pg_dump and pg_restore, and the app code runs in any AWS, Azure or GCP account you point it at.
Does Joylo meet enterprise security and compliance requirements?
Joylo is GDPR-ready with enterprise-grade security built in from day one. It is not currently SOC 2 or HIPAA certified. If your team needs dedicated infrastructure, data sovereignty or custom security policies, that is what the Enterprise plans are for.
Is there a contract, and can I get a refund?
All plans are month to month with no long-term contract, and paid plans carry a 30 day money-back guarantee. Production Support can be cancelled any time and is prorated if you change level mid month.
